Agile coaching & product ownership

My experience with agile coaching lies mainly in information management and IT operations. That is exactly where dependencies, disruptions and shifting priorities are daily reality. Teams have to deal with that without reinventing their way of working with every change. That is why I help teams work more flexibly, more independently and more effectively.

Where needed I also take on the role of product owner: guarding the product vision, setting sharp priorities and aligning stakeholders and suppliers, so the team works on the right things.

What I can help with

  • Introducing and embedding agile ways of working (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, SAFe)
  • Guiding teams towards self-organisation and predictability
  • A backlog, priorities and working agreements (DoR, DoD) that are actually followed
  • Actively managing dependencies between teams and suppliers
  • Visual management that gives insight
  • Facilitating training courses and workshops
  • Turning resistance into ownership

From practice

From islands to synergy

The situation
An operations department was not working together: no standards, no knowledge sharing, no synergy.
My approach
First taking the time for vision, mission and strategy. After that we introduced a shared way of working step by step: backlog, daily, refinement, retro, TOPdesk and Jira.
The result
Within six months, from a sceptical attitude to collaboration and flow.

Pretending over performing

The situation
Development teams worked with Scrum, but it was mainly an IT party. The business was moderately satisfied.
My approach
The power of repetition and leading by example. A stripped-down definition of done that was actually applied, a modest definition of ready that was actually checked, and user stories that were understandable for all stakeholders.
The result
A positive spiral: better processes, and therefore more valuable work.
